  • Dianne Calvi, our Chief Executive Officer, has over twenty years of international management experience. Prior to joining Village Enterprise, Dianne served as the President of Bring Me A Book Foundation, a literacy nonprofit with international partnerships in Hong Kong, Malawi, Mexico, and Guatemala. Previously, she worked in sales and marketing for Microsoft, Xerox, and Montedison in Milan, Italy. She has also served on several nonprofit boards. Dianne received a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Bocconi University (Milan, IT) on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.

  • Caroline Bernadi joined the team in 2005 as a volunteer on the Village Enterprise Impact Evaluation. She became Foundation Director in September 2008 and since then has become the Senior Director of Institutional Giving. Prior to Village Enterprise, Caroline worked in operations in the luxury goods industry in France and was the co-founder of Maatiam, a social venture. She holds a MS in Industrial Management from Ecole des Mines in France.

  • Lucy Valentine Wurtz is our Director of Development and Marketing. She has nearly 20 years experience in the not-for-profit and public sectors. Prior to joining Village Enterprise, Lucy most recently worked at Waldorf School of the Peninsula as the Development and Outreach Director. Lucy has a BS from Santa Clara University and is a graduate of the Coro Foundation’s leadership training program in public affairs. Lucy lived and worked in Arusha, Tanzania from 1986 to 1989.

  • Konstantin joined Village Enterprise in July 2011 as Sr. Director of Programs and Operations and is now Director of Agribusiness Development. Born in Barcelona Spain, he has dedicated most of his professional career to financial services and management consulting work with Booz Allen Hamilton. Konstantin has focused his professional experience in systems and operations improvement as the Director of Operations of a Bear Stearns/JP Morgan joint venture, and as an independent consultant for Developing World Markets (an investment bank dedicated to making socially positive investments in the microfinance sector). He lived in East Africa as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Mozambique from 2005-2007. He received a BS in Biology and a BS in Financial Economics from the University of Maryland and his MBA from Georgetown University.

  • Kim Munn joined the Village Enterprise staff in September of 2014 as the Manager of Accounting. She has a Bachelors Degree in International Affairs and a Masters Degree in Global Finance and Economic Integration. Prior to Village Enterprise, she did an internship with Kiva, a fellowship a Seattle-based non-profit, Vittana, that specializes in person-to-person lending for aspiring college students all over the world, and was with the Accounting Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Although Kim enjoys traveling and spent a year traveling the world, she now is back based in San Francisco.

  • Kelsey Freeman joined the Village Enterprise team in January 2015 as the Executive Assistant and Office Manager. Originally from the Bay Area, she graduated from Emory University in 2012 with a BS in Anthropology and Human Biology. She recently returned from two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Swaziland, where she witnessed the transformative power of microenterprise through her work with HIV positive women to develop a local handicraft business. Kelsey is grateful to be back in the Bay Area and enjoys running, hiking, volleyball, reading, and traveling.

  • Having volunteered for Village Enterprise on the Development Committee in previous years, Simone went to the field in 2014 and returned from Uganda feeling inspired to help. She first joined the team as a development consultant in January 2015 before deciding to join with Village Enterprise as the Development Manager.  Originally from the East Coast, she has a BS in Business Management from Centenary College in New Jersey. Previously, she worked in operations in the Equine industry. When she’s not in the saddle, you can find her hiking with her dog, Switch.
