Social Innovation Consultant
Katie Boland has been involved in work for disadvantaged youth and efforts to alleviate extreme poverty with a number of organizations. She is a partner with Silicon Valley Social Ventures (SV2) and a member of National Charity League. She serves on the superintendent’s advisory board for the Las Lomitas School District. Katie and her husband Brian served as the benefit chairs for the 2014 International Justice Mission fundraiser in the Bay Area. Katie has led initiatives at the Ravenswood School District and has started Project Cornerstone (a social and emotional education program) in three different school districts. Prior to her advocacy and consulting work, she was the department chair for a science department providing teacher training and curriculum development for grades 6-12. Katie joined the Village Enterprise board in 2015. Katie holds a B.S. in biology and natural science & mathematics from Washington & Lee University and an M.Ed. in science education from Vanderbilt University. She has a son and a daughter and volunteers extensively in activities that they are involved in as well.
