Mary Githinji

Global Director Strategy, Policy, and Advocacy

Mary is a public policy and advocacy expert with over 15 years of experience influencing governments across Sub-Saharan Africa. She joined Village Enterprise in November 2024 to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive global government engagement strategy.

She brings extensive experience supporting the private sector and non-governmental organisations to engage government in advancing policy and regulatory reform. She spent four years advocating improvements in renewable energy sector across eight countries and developed a platform for dialogue on Africa’s energy future.

Prior to that, she supported private sector associations in Kenya and Tanzania to advocate improvements to the enabling environment for business. Mary serves as a board member at Amref Health Africa in Kenya.
