Director of Compliance and Risk Management

Mcroy Rutto leads the Risk and Compliance function, steering Enterprise Risk Management and compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards across Village Enterprise. He joined the organization in May 2021 as the Regional Risk & Compliance Manager, bringing over 15 years of experience in finance, grants management, risk management, and compliance within the international development sector.

Prior to Village Enterprise, Mcroy held senior finance and compliance roles at World Vision International and Catholic Relief Services. In these positions, he managed donor-funded projects, coordinated sub-awards, and led financial oversight initiatives for the organization and various partners and sub-awardees. His technical background includes policy development, risk management, and internal control design.

Mcroy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), complemented by specialized technical certifications in Risk Management. He is committed to strengthening institutional accountability, governance frameworks, and sustainable risk-aware culture across the organization.
