Zach Hoins

Chief Operating Officer

Zach Hoins is an international development manager with 12 years of experience leading and guiding teams. For the last three years he has worked with Engility/IRG leading business development efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, Zach co-founded “The Recreation Project” in Gulu, Uganda, where he lived from 2010-2013. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and an MPS in Community and Economic Development from Pennsylvania State University.

Over the course of his career Zach has been intently focused on partnership development and revenue growth. He has a strong passion to see the East African community inspired and empowered to identify and take advantage of opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

Zach is married to his wife Casey and they have a son named Everest. When he is not enjoying spending time with his family, you can find him running, playing basketball and golf, or reading up on the latest trends in international development and management.  A few of his favorite reads on Africa include “What is the What” by Dave Eggers and “The Shadow of the Sun” by Ryszard Kapuściński.
