Nonprofit Scaling Partnerships
Scaling up our evidence-based approach in partnership with international nonprofit organizations
Addressing the complexities of extreme poverty requires adaptable and complementary approaches based on local and organizational needs. Village Enterprise partners with large international nonprofits to adapt, adopt, and implement our cost-effective, evidence-based poverty graduation program. We leverage partners’ sector-specific experience, community rapport, and on-the-ground infrastructure, and couple it with our microenterprise development and financial inclusion expertise to achieve multiple benefits. Working together, we can achieve greater scale and impact.
Teaming up with World Vision Mozambique to support households impacted by Cyclone Idai with USAID funding partnership
We began supporting World Vision in Fall 2020 to start 800 new businesses supporting 2,400 households in central Mozambique, where Cyclone Idai devastated the community in 2019.
“Lwala Community Alliance believes that community transformation happens when development is holistic. An individual's needs are complex and interrelated, yet no single organization can address all these needs. Having excelled in providing healthcare services, we needed a partner who could help address the problem of poor household income as a key social determinant of health. Village Enterprise has been that partner.”Julius D. W. Mbeya, Co-CEO, Lwala Community Alliance
